Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a disorder which suffers from over 60 million Western people and whose cause is not fully known.

The disorder may have because of physical nature, such as overcrowding of bacteria in the small intestine, gastroenteritis, allergies, or an abnormality of the gastrointestinal tract or may occur as a result of diet and lifestyle.

Symptoms include cramps, gas, constipation, diarrhea, bloating, abdominal pain and can be triggered by a multitude of health conditions: excessive stress, food sensitivities, hormonal imbalances, consumption of alcohol or drugs or other diseases (e.g., Rheumatoid arthritis)

Fortunately, IBS is considered a condition rather than a disease.

IBS symptoms do not produce permanent damage to the gastrointestinal tract — as happens in the case of cancer, colitis, or Crohn’s disease.

It is essential to recognize the precursors in the body, the IBS episodes to identify what triggers and avoid them. As preventive measures, we need to get hydrated well, avoid excessive stress, and rest as well. If the condition becomes chronic, it’s good to be made allergy tests.

  • 4-6 cups of clean or distilled water
  • fresh Fennel leaves
  • fresh raw organic mint leaves and honey (optional)



Finely chop the stems and leaves of plants to boost and release the oils. Place the plants in a glass cup or bowl. Pour boiling water over and let it sit (covered) about 20 minutes. As it infuses more, the tea will be more concentrated.

Through hedging, we can avoid the evaporation and loss of medicinal oils. Stir and add honey to taste. Consume 1-3 cups daily.
