Sticking to healthy eating habits while you are at home seems to be no problem at all, but when it comes to going on a trip you are likely to turn to junk food. However, you should be wise and think in advance about what you are going to eat while traveling. Preparing some healthy snacks means you will not succumb and eat whatever there is to buy once you hit the road.

  • Remember to stay hydrated

First things first, what you shouldn’t forget is taking a lot of water bottles with you. Bear in mind that you should drink at least eight cups of water per day. Forget about your bad habits and ditch those cigarettes and cut down on alcohol consumption. If you forget to stay hydrated you are likely to experience fatigue and hunger. Think about road conditions, if you get stuck in a traffic jam you will appreciate the water bottles you have brought with you.

  • Go nuts about the nuts

Salted nuts will help you successfully fight food cravings. You can opt for roasted chickpeas and flavor them with paprika and cinnamon. Nuts are rich in omega-3 fatty acids which help maintain brain cell function. What is more, they are brimming with zinc which is believed to boost concentration. If you are driving towards your next holiday destination, grab a bite of nuts and stay concentrated on the road.

  • Go for cheese

If you like cheese this is the perfect occasion to enjoy tiny bits of it. Check out creamy ricotta, prepare sandwiches with it, herbs and radishes in order to have healthy snacks. Opt for a bitter beer such as the delicious Asahi beer because ricotta creates the perfect balance for the beer bitterness.
